How do you fix a chipped tooth?
At Moore Family Dentistry, we have several options for fixing a chipped tooth. The best choice for you will be the one that takes into account the size of the chip, which tooth is affected, and your budget.
A porcelain veneer will cover the entire surface of your tooth including the chip. Veneers can be used to fix one or more teeth since they are made to blend so perfectly with surrounding teeth. You will need to make two visits to our office because we must take an impression and then send the mold to a dental lab, where the veneer is created.
Dental bonding is another option, and it is a fairly quick fix. It’s no more complicated than a filling and, depending on the size and location of the chip, we may be able to do the repair without using Novocain.
If the strength of your tooth is compromised because of the size of a chip, we will most likely recommend a dental crown. The crown will be made to look just like your natural teeth, and the cosmetic effect is very attractive. A dental crown also protects the tooth from further damage and strengthens the tooth so that it is restored to full function.
If you have a chipped tooth, please contact our Pelham dental office for an appointment. We will be happy to assess the damage so that we can recommend appropriate treatment options.
